Voting on polling day


Where and when do you vote?

Apart from the advance poll held on October 25, 2009, from noon to 8 p.m., and possibly October 26 in certain municipalities, you can also vote on polling day, i.e., on November 1st, 2009, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To find out the location of your polling station, get in touch with your returning officer.

Important!

To vote, you must be be entered on the list of electors and you will have to identify yourself by presenting one of the following documents:
  • your Québec health insurance card;
  • your Québec driver’s licence;
  • your Canadian passport;
  • your certificate of Indian status;
  • your Canadian Forces Identification Card.

Four hours to vote, it’s your right!

On election day, your employer must grant you at least four consecutive hours when polling stations are open to go vote. This does not include the time normally allowed for meals.
